Fun and entertaining by Jenn V.
I got this book for a friend for Christmas, and ended up buying one for myself, too. The projects aren’t terribly inventive, but if you’re looking for something fun for a Harry Potter fan, this book has loads of projects that range from taking a couple of hours (the Weasley sweater ornament), to taking weeks (Mrs. Weasley’s clock blanket). I’m looking forward to making some of the projects in this book!

Harry Potter Fans ….. by Abby M. Bruce
this book is a harry potter and knitting fans heavan. Lots of fun ideas and easy to read and follow pictures and instructions.

fun for all ages by Sunshine7
I purchased this book for two 11 year old neices about 6 months ago, and they love it. as beginning knitters, making a house scarf is a large project (it took each of them about 3 months). they are huge fans of the books and knitting items from the movie brings the magical world a bit closer.

I finally broke down and bought a copy for me. My dh wants a scarf, and I love the clock blanket.

Not as magical as I’d hoped…. by Michelle Calhoun
I’ll be honest: I was much more excited by the IDEA of this book than the actual book itself. Although I typically crochet, I often look to knitting books for inspiration. True there are some very good patterns which, along with Alison Hansel’s fun comments and obvious adoration for Harry Potter, do make this a worthwhile purchase, yet I really wanted something more, well, magical. The styles are pretty basic (striped scarves and whatnot)…I don’t know, maybe I just wanted to see more kitschy “fun” items befitting the Harry Potter world. There are a golden snitch ornament (without wings) and an Errol stuffed toy, but mostly it’s sweaters and scarves…and nary an intarsia house logo in sight. Maybe because the book is not really sanctioned by JK Rowling some things couldn’t be included?

All in all, I do like the concept of the book, and it does seem to be well written. It’s just more practical than magical.
